AS Level Art (Fine Art)

Pupils showing exceptional talent and enthusiasm at GCSE level have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills at a higher level.

The course follows a similar structure to the GCSE programme with pupils exploring personally chosen project themes as well as externally set exam questions. There is a strong sense of independence and experimentation with materials with pupils building upon their knowledge from GCSE.

Pupils are required to work in one or more areas of Fine Art, such as painting and drawing, mixed media, including collage, sculpture, printmaking, photography and new media. There are also ample opportunities to explore the wider world of art and design through gallery visits, professionally led workshops and residentials.
