This qualification has been designed to help students gain the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to care for their own children or children in a voluntary capacity, such as babysitting.
Students will learn how to respect and value children as individuals, how to tell stories, plan musical and creative experiences and keep children safe. They will also be able to develop their own skills at the same time. It's anticipated that this qualification will be delivered through a wide range of practical activities; for example, looking at the physical and emotional needs of children, healthy eating, make and play a variety of musical instruments, create picture books, and keeping children safe.
Students will complete units and gain credits which will accumulate towards the required qualification.
As students complete the certificate (13 credits) they can then transfer these units over to continue studying towards the Diploma (37 credits).
