We are fortunate to be able to have access to a community plot at RHS Bridgewater. The team at RHS Garden Bridgewater has been working closely with people in Salford to help them experience the amazing, positive benefits of gardening. We grow and harvest fruit and vegetables and use the produce to make tasty stews and soups.
The Sixth Form students have access to sessions which are delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions. This is a great opportunity for the students to develop their knowledge within the world of work, as well as providing them with the opportunity to discuss their future ambitions and how to develop the necessary skills, qualities and experience needed to succeed. They are also able to discuss ideas, ask questions and develop their CV’s.
The Sixth Form students take it in turns to access the Empower You sessions, whereby they participate in various physical activities. Examples of previous sessions include boxing, basketball, cycling, yoga, skateboarding, and the gym. The programme runs for 8 weeks and aims to improve the physical health of the students whilst having fun!
As part of enrichment, the students have the opportunity to access Zumba sessions where they are able to learn various dance routines to past and current music. The students really enjoy Zumba and the dance moves are easily adapted which means that it is accessible to all students.
